The Defeating Epilepsy Foundation is a 501c3 not for profit in Rancho Cucamonga. Our mission is to provide the advocacy and educational resources needed to the epilepsy community and our society. Our founder has battled epilepsy for over forty years now and this is her way of giving back to the epilepsy community to help people with epilepsy achieve better economic and educational opportunities and improve their quality of life.
We have a blog with articles written by our interns, many who are pre-med and psychology majors learning to gain experience as they prepare for graduate school. We have four YouTube channels in English, Spanish, French, and Chinese in which we make presentations from our articles to give our visual learners the opportunity to learn more about epilepsy.
We offer scholarships to students battling epilepsy and we are working on a program to help with workforce development in getting people with epilepsy be ready to obtain employment. For individuals who have uncontrolled epilepsy or Veterans who have Traumatic Brain Injuries, Epilepsy, and/or PTSD, we are working to secure funds to help them get a medical alert dog.
